The Judicial AI Standards Institute develops standards materials for evaluating artificial intelligence tools proposed for court operations, legal-reference workflows, and judicial-support settings.

I developed The BenchMark Standard. I am a sitting General Sessions and Juvenile Court judge in Tipton County, Tennessee.
The Judicial AI Standards Institute is a division of Velocity Venture Holdings LLC, a single-member limited liability company owned solely by Audrey Eckel, my wife. The Standard is one of the company's products. The company also develops court-facing software, including BenchBook.AI, which is in development and not deployed in any court. Any commonly owned tool submitted for evaluation is assigned to an independent evaluator with no interest in the company, and I take no part in the determination.
The Institute has issued no certifications.

The Institute does not speak for the Tennessee judiciary, any state administrative office of the courts, the federal judiciary, NIST, NCSC, or the ABA. Its public materials are standards publications, not legal advice.
